South African Family Tree is a website that aims to bring together as many South African family trees as possible. Much of the website is made up of contributions from individuals who have provided their genealogies or family trees for free.  Much of the data is from my own research. This information is available to you for free, but please remember that if you intend to use it, that it often represents years of work by someone else, so please acknowledge your source.

The primary website is funded by myself, Gina Shepherd.  Contributions of information must be provided free of charge in the spirit of sharing that I am trying to foster.

I do undertake research on behalf of others.  I cannot provide standard prices as I would first need to understand the nature of the work to be undertaken and can then provide the necessary information and pricing.

If you would like to have a family tree site without the hassles you can have your site hosted on SA Family Tree.

There is no need to register a domain as you will receive a sub-domain name for free.  The naming would be "[yoursurname].safamilytree.com.  I can accommodate other domain names should you already have one, and upon request will provide you with the DNS pointers to point to your site.

Monthly subscription:  ZAR 125.00

This includes 1GB of space, 1 MySQL database, 1 2GB mailbox, 1 sub-domain name, 1 FTP account

If you would like me to design the site for you please add ZAR 320.00 as a once-off payment

If you require monthly maintenance of your website to be done by me (which includes updating content) please add ZAR 125.00 to your monthly subscription.
